About

The Aachen New Year’s Eve Run is a traditional city event taking place on 31 December through the historic city centre, past the town hall, Aachen Cathedral and the Elisenbrunnen fountain. Organised by DLC Aachen e.V. with support from the city of Aachen, J&J MedTech and local partners.

Refreshment points on Großkölnstraße at the end of each lap and at the market square in the finish area.

Pacers

Pacers are listed for each race wave on the event day under "Renntag für Laufende" (target times per start wave). Check the race schedule on the official site for assigned pacer groups and flag identifiers at the start area.

Can I change my registration after I have registered?

Registration change is possible on 31.12.2025 at the Infopoint. There is generally no refund of the entry fee.Passing on the start number without official registration change is not permitted and will lead to disqualification.

What do I have to consider when travelling?

Where can I park my car?

Parking is available in the multi-storey car parks around the market square.

Are changing rooms and showers available?

Changing rooms and showers are available in the Minoritenstraße indoor sports hall (Minoritenstraße 7, 52062 Aachen)

Is there somewhere I can store my luggage during the run?

There will be an opportunity to store your luggage. More info will follow!

Is a warm-up programme offered?

15 minutes before each run there is a warm-up programme on the market square

How are time and laps recorded?

Timing is done electronically using a chip on the start number. Participants are responsible for the correct counting of laps. The number of laps is checked electronically.

Is there catering for the participants on the track?

There is a refreshment point on Großkölnstraße at the end of each lap and at the market in the finish area.

Can I listen to music while running?

Wearing headphones is not permitted in any of the runs and may lead to disqualification.

When will the award ceremony take place?

The award ceremony will take place shortly after each run. Planned ceremony times: Junior Cup: ~13:40 Speed Race: ~14:50 Silvester Challenge: ~16:00

Will my run be counted for the Regio Aachen Laufcup?

All runs will be counted for the Regio Aachen Laufcup, whereby only one run per person will be counted and the AOK Fun Run and J&J MedTech Speed Race will count as one run.

When can I view the results lists?

The results will be available by 02 January on our results page
