About

A safe, healthy celebration of running and peace featuring the Abebe Bikila Day International Peace Marathon and Half held along the C&O Canal Towpath in Washington, D.C., honoring the legacy of Abebe Bikila.

Catering & aid stations

On-course aid stations provide water and Gatorade approximately every two miles. Stations are located at Fletcher's Cove, Lock 5, Lock 7, and Lock 10 along the C&O Canal Towpath.

Pacers

Pacemakers will be present for both marathon and half marathon divisions. Target pacer times are communicated by Start Wave on the Race Day — see the schedule under 'Renntag für Laufende'. Pacers wear identifiable flags for easy recognition; volunteers are instructed not to interfere with pacers.
