Join the 9th annual Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon and 8K, featuring the new Fire & Falls Legacy Challenge. Run two iconic races — the Firefighters 10 Mile Road Race and the Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon — to earn a commemorative coin.

Catering & aid stations

Water stations approximately every 1.5 miles, with energy drinks available at a minimum of 3 aid stations. Portable toilets and medical aid stations located throughout the course at the start, finish, and multiple points along the route.

Pacers

Pace groups will be available with target times per Startwelle; look for Pacerflaggen on race day. Pacers are included in the entry fee.

How do I register for the races?

Register on the official site runkbfalls.com or via the provided registration link for the 9th Annual Kakabeka Falls Legion Half Marathon.

How much does the race cost?

Early bird registration for the Half Marathon and 8K is listed on the registration page; Legion members receive a $10 discount.

What does my registration fee cover?

Your fee covers race entry, timing bib, tech-shirt, all refreshments and food, finisher’s medal, and supports police and emergency services on site.

Can I register on race day?

Registration is recommended prior to race day; same-day registration may be available but T-shirt availability is not guaranteed.

Is there a time limit?

Yes; Half Marathon participants must clear key points by 7:20 am and 7:40 am, and finish by 11:00 am. The course closes at 11:00 am.

Where do the races start and finish?

Both races start and finish at the Kakabeka Legion on Highway 11/17 just east of Kakabeka Falls.

What are the start times?

Both the Half Marathon and 8K start promptly at 7:00 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Are there pace groups?

Pace group leaders will be available; watch the event’s Facebook page for updates.

What about parking?

Plenty of parking is available at the Legion and surrounding area; parking marshals will direct traffic on race morning.

Can someone else pick up my race packet?

You must pick up your own packet with a valid photo ID. A friend may pick up yours if they have your ID and a signed note.
