The Beast of the East Fork is a 3.2-mile obstacle course set in the woods and along the water of East Fork State Park, featuring elite, heat-based waves for competitive and family/fun runners, with post-race festivities, food, and a Little Beast course for young adventurers.
Pacemakers will be featured for the competitive heats. Target times per Startwave are communicated via the Renntag for Laufende; refer to the race page for assigned pacer flags and wave times.
Monthly averages based on historical data (2000–present).
Beast of the East Fork will be on Saturday May 30th, 2026. Check-in and walk up registration will begin at 8:15am, with heats starting at 9:00am. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your heat. As the name implies, The Beast will be hosted at East Fork State Park in Bethel, OH. Enter the park from State Route 125 and follow signs toward the beach.
Distance or Time? The course is approximately 3 miles, so roughly the length of a 5K. The time it takes to complete is entirely up to you and/or your teammates.
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage families to run together. What better way to kick off the summer together! There is no minimum age to participate; you are the parent, we trust your judgement. To help you decide; note the distance (~3 miles), there will be a few steep hills, and running along trails through the woods. However, most obstacles have varying levels of difficulty or can be bypassed all together. Children too young to race can enjoy our Little Beast course free of charge. For a full description of the race, see our Little Beast Course page.
You know it! Sign up four friends and you can run for free! Or you could split it evenly and all save money; we'll leave that up to you. Check out our Registration page for details.
Then we will get wet.
