About

The Bideford Half Marathon is a swift half held close to the Bideford Amateur Athletic Club clubhouse, taking runners through countryside along the River Torridge and onto the Tarka Trail with a moderately flat course and water stations.

Catering & aid stations

Water stations at approximately 4, 7, and 9 miles; on-course refreshments available at the clubhouse; only food purchased at the clubhouse may be consumed on the premises.

Pacemaker/Pacer information: Race paces aligned with Startwelle groups published on the Renntag schedule; Pacers wear Pacerflaggen to identify target pace groups for faster runners.

What time do runners need to assemble on race day?

Runners should assemble at 10:20 am for the 10:30 am race start.

Where can I collect my race number?

Number collection is at the Bideford AAC clubhouse (EX39 2PF) on Saturday 6 March 7–8 pm and Sunday 7 March 9–10 am.

Are there age categories and cash prizes?

Yes; there are age/veteran categories up to V75 with cash prizes (£20 for category winners) and a £50 bonus for any runner breaking the course record.

What are the cut-off and rules on pacing aids?

The cut-off time is 3 hours 17 minutes; runners must wear numbers on the front, remain on the left on road sections, and no headphones are allowed. Pacemakers wear pacer flags to indicate target pace groups.

Is the event suitable for juniors or visitors?

Yes; juniors aged 6+ and visitors are welcome. Club membership is not required to enter.
