About
Mackay’s biggest cycling festival celebrating community and the region’s stunning landscapes, with multiple distances for riders of all ages and a festive event hub featuring food, entertainment and community groups.
Catering & aid stations
Free bacon & egg rolls at the Thiess Recovery Tent (Sunday) and sausage sizzle provided by Mackay City Central Scout Group for registered riders; additional refreshments and on-course aid stations available.
Pacers
Pacers will be present on race day with target times displayed per start wave on the race schedule (available via event programme and race app). Pacers help riders maintain target pace and are identified by Pacer flag colours.

- Look for any holes or chunks out of your tyres and replace if worn
- Check that you have enough tyre pressure in your tyres
- Ensure you check your brakes to see that they are working effectively and not rubbing
- Check that your gears are changing smoothly
- Make sure your chain is clean and apply fresh chain lubricant
- Ensure your handlebars are tight and won’t twist from being straight with your front wheel
- Check that nothing on your bike is loose as things could fall off while you are riding
- Free bacon & egg rolls at the Thiess Recovery Tent on Sunday
- Sausage sizzle for registered riders provided by Mackay City Central Scout Group

What age groups can participate?
Golding Kids Colour Ride is for children aged 3–12 years. Other distances have age requirements detailed on each distance page (e.g., 12+ for 25km, 15+ for 60km, 18+ for 100km).
Is registration transferable or refundable?
Transfers are possible for some options up to 7 days before the event for a $15 admin fee; after that registrations are final. No refunds are provided except as required by law.
What amenities are included in entry?
Entry includes access to event amenities such as the Thiess Recovery Tent with free bacon & egg rolls, Scout sausage sizzle for registered riders, and on-course aid stations (food and drink).
