FAQ

Do I need a ticket to enter the race?

Yes—everyone needs a Burning Man ticket. Registration for the race opens after tickets are obtained; carry your ticket and be aware of first-come, first-served ticket sales (Step/OMG) and local community releases.

What should I bring to the race?

Bring a hydration pack or handheld bottle (no cups provided), ultrarunning snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen, dust mask or goggles, headlamp (it starts in the dark), and a drop bag. Contribute a shared snack for the grub table (chips, gels, energy drinks, cookies, M&Ms, beer, or post-race food).

What happens if there's a dust storm?

Runners should carry goggles and a dustmask. If conditions worsen, seek help from volunteers. The early 5am start reduces dust-storm risk, but storms are possible—be prepared.

Can I run only part of the 50k?

No, the event requires finishing the full 50k. If you do not intend to finish, please do not sign up; pace runners are welcome to join for portions of the course.
