The Cedar Ridge Hilly Half 21.1K, 10K, & 5K! is not your average race – it’s a celebration of community, nature, and grit. Nestled in the heart of the stunning Madawaska Highlands, our course winds through the forests and hills surrounding Cedar Ridge Camp in McArthur’s Mills, Ontario.

BBQ lunch included (hamburgers, veggie burgers, chips, salad bar). Water stations and first-aid support along the route.
Pacers
All races are chip-timed by Timingshack. Strava segments available including the iconic Bessemer Beast hill; top male and female finishers are recognized in awards and prizes.

When will the race be held?
The 5th annual Cedar Ridge Hilly Half Marathon & 10k will be held on the 27th of September, 2025.
Where is the race happening?
The race is held at Cedar Ridge Camp (57 Cemetery Road, McArthurs Mills, ON) in the beautiful Madawaska Highlands. For more info on the course and to see the course maps, click here.
When can I pick up my race kit?
You can pick up your race kit at Cedar Ridge during your race weekend check-in or on the morning of race day. (You must pick up your race packet no later than 30 minutes before the start of the race on race day.)
Is the race chip timed?
Yes, the race is chip timed to ensure the accuracy of all race results.
How do I register for the race?
You can register by following the Register button at the top of the page or by clicking here. You will have to log in or make an account on the Cedar Ridge camp brain portal to register.
What is the course like?
The course moves through the rolling hills surrounding the Cedar Ridge property. It is mostly run on McCaw Rd, which is a hard-packed dirt road with a few looser dirt/sand sections. You should expect lots of hills of varying sizes and lengths along the course. A tall and steep hill called the Bessemer Beast is located in the middle of the half marathon course, so be prepared to conquer this behemoth.
What should I wear?
Wear what you would run in regularly, but make sure to check the weather first. There’s a race shirt, which would be fun if everyone wore it, but it is not required. Costumes and other fun things are also encouraged. Just leave sharp and pointy parts to your costume at home. Both road and trail running shoes are acceptable forms of footwear for our hard-packed dirt road course.
Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit for either race, but we recommend that younger children attempting the run be accompanied in the race by a parent or guardian.
Are there medals and prizes?
All finishers will receive a Hilly Half medal upon the completion of the race. The top finishers, male and female, will be recognized and prizes awarded.
Where can I check my results?
All race results will be posted on the results page after the race has finished.
