About

America's only 15 mile race — a scenic but challenging course starting at the State Capitol and finishing at Laidley Field, featuring rolling hillside neighborhoods and riverfront views. Organized as a 15-mile classic, a 3-person relay, and a 5K run/walk.

Catering & aid stations

Water and Gatorade stations approximately one to two miles apart on the 15-mile and 5K courses; 12 stations total on the 15-mile course plus stations at start and finish. Portable toilets available at the start on California Avenue and along the 15-mile course. Refreshments and pizza available at Laidley Field after races; showers available at Laidley Field until 11:00 a.m.

Pacers

Pacers set target times per start wave (Renntag) with Pacerflaggen displayed on course. Refer to the event’s Renntag information for specific target times and pacing corridor expectations.

FAQ

What is the average weather on race morning?

The average temperature at the 7:30 a.m. start is approximately 60°F (16°C), but temperature and humidity often rise significantly during the race. It has only rained twice during the event’s 52-year history.

What is the inclement weather policy?

The Race Director may cancel, delay, or change events in extreme weather. If the course is shut down during the race, volunteers will notify runners to take shelter. In extreme weather, entry fees are non-refundable.

Are baby strollers/pets allowed?

Baby strollers are allowed in the 5K but not the 15-mile race. Pets are not permitted in either race or at the finish area.

Can I wear headphones during the race?

Headphones/earbuds are strongly discouraged for safety due to road and vehicular traffic.

What happens after the races?

Water, refreshments, and pizza are available at Laidley Field. Showers are available at Laidley Field until 11:00 a.m.
