About

The Charlevoix Marathon takes place on the shores of Lake Michigan in the picturesque town of Charlevoix, Michigan. Now in its 20th year, it offers marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K options with a fast, flat, and scenic course that is USATF certified and Boston Marathon qualifying.

Catering & aid stations

Post-race food is served at the registration tents for registered athletes only. On-course aid stations are stocked with Powerade, water, GU energy gels, and first aid kits.

Pacers

Pacers will be provided for the Marathon and Half Marathon with target times per Startwave posted on the PACER page. Pacers will lead participants at a steady, race-day pace to aid in achieving goal times; look for Pacer flaggen on course.

What is the race date?

What is the registration deadline?

Online registration closes June 10 at midnight; after that, changes are only possible at packet pickup (subject to availability).

Are there pacers?

Yes, pacers are provided for the Marathon and Half Marathon with target times per Startwave posted on the PACER page.

What is the course measurement and certification?

Both the Marathon and Half Marathon are USATF certified and Boston Marathon qualifying.

Is there packet pickup and what does it include?

Packet pickup is in downtown Charlevoix; bags include race bib, timing chip, and T-shirt (Shirt sizes are not guaranteed).

What should I do if I cannot attend after registering?

Transfers to another person or a different distance are allowed up to June 1 or at packet pickup; no refunds or deferrals are permitted except for active military called to duty.

Are there aid stations on course?

Yes, there are approximately 11 aid stations spaced every ~3 miles offering water, Powerade, GU gels, and first aid.

What is the finish line policy?

Only registered athletes and officials may enter the finish area; spectators must use designated crosswalks.

What are the start times for each distance?

Marathon 6:00 AM; Half Marathon 6:30 AM; 10K 7:00 AM; 5K 7:15 AM.

Can I bring a stroller or bike?

Strollers are permitted only on the 5K course; no wheels (bikes, rollerblades, etc.) are allowed on any other distance.
