The Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k is a Thanksgiving morning community race that starts and finishes at Albemarle High School, offering a flat neighborhood course with gentle rolling hills and 133 ft of elevation gain while supporting local food pantries.

Pacers

The race uses pace groups and a pacer system. On race day, refer to the ‘Renntag für Laufende’ schedule for target times per start wave and watch for Pacer flag markers on course to stay on target pace.

When and where does the race take place?

The 2026 Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k is on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26 at 9:00 am, starting and finishing at Albemarle High School.

Can I register on race day?

Yes, late registration is available Wednesday, Nov 25 6pm through Thursday, Nov 26 8:30am at the venue for $48.

What is the registration fee and what does it include?

Registration is $35 (early) and includes a soft technical race t-shirt while supplies last. Packet pickup is at Connect Church on Nov 24 (3–6pm) and Nov 25 (1–5pm).

Are strollers or dogs allowed?

Strollers are permitted only in the last wave—no exceptions. No dogs are allowed on the race course.

What amenities are available on course?

Ample parking is available at Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary. Local Albemarle EMT medical services and aid stations are on-site.
