About

A unique endurance race on the Cline Buttes offering 3/6/12/24hr options and a 5k, set on stunning lava formations with breathtaking views, support, and a cupless overnight experience in the Central Oregon desert.

Catering & aid stations

Aid Station Supplies: One aid station near start/finish. Food: chips, pretzels, goldfish, M&Ms, fruit, pickles, Oreos, Tater Boost, smoothies, refried bean wraps, grilled cheese, quesadillas. For 12–24hr and Last Person Standing, meal options (e.g., pizza, burritos, burgers, pancakes) are offered after the 6-hour mark. Beverages: Coca-Cola, ginger ale, chicken broth, veggie broth, Hyperlyte electrolytes, instant coffee. Dietary needs can be noted at registration.

Pacers

Pacemaker/Pacer support: For the 3/6/12/24hr options, target times align with hourly start waves (Pacerflaggen) — the first person to cross the finish each hour earns $20. Advised to use your own cup; hot beverage exception: collapsible cup allowed for soup/drinks. Race is cupless — disposables are not provided at aid stations.

FAQ

Is this race cupless?

Yes — this is a cupless race. You must bring your own cup or flask for aid station use. The only exception is a collapsible cup for hot beverages. A portion of proceeds supports Mountain View High School cross-country.

What is the cancellation policy?

Register via Ultrasignup. Cancellations more than 30 days before race: 50% credit toward next year’s race. Cancellations 30 days or less before race: no credit, refund, or transfer. If the race is canceled due to fire, weather, or Act of God, registered runners receive a 100% credit toward the next event.

Are there age or gender restrictions?

No — the race is open to all genders and ages. Registration is free for all Native American/Indigenous runners (any distance, any year); tribal verification follows each tribe’s own rules.
