A one-day 78 km traverse of Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair Overland track through alpine wilderness. Organised by Cradle Mountain Run Inc, limited to 60 runners and described as a Run not a Race emphasizing mutual help.

FAQ

What are the entry criteria for the Cradle Mountain Run?

Runners must be at least 18 years old on race day and have completed a previous Cradle Run OR any trail-based single-stage ultramarathon longer than 80 km finished within the event’s cutoff time within the last three years (2023 onward). Acceptable events include Kunanyi Mountain Run (68 km within 15 hours) and Gone Nuts (75 km within 14 hours). All results must be easily verifiable by organisers.

How many runners are accepted and how are entries handled?

Entry is limited to 60 runners. After the opening deadline entries are closed and organisers evaluate applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the field is full, runners are placed on a waitlist. Accepted runners are notified by email.

What is the refund and cancellation policy?

Refunds are available up until 31 December of the preceding year. If the event is cancelled due to Tasmanian Government directives, full refunds are provided. Withdrawals due to injury or illness prior to the race are accepted without penalty.
