About

A rugged off‑trail ultra in Gregory, Michigan featuring single‑track, rocks, mud and creek crossings; full weekend camping with post‑race bash, awards, food and live music.

Catering & aid stations

On‑course Verpflegung includes water, Gatorade, assorted GU packets, PB & J, boiled potatoes, salt, chips, Coke, peanuts, Oreos, bananas, oranges, candy and other aid at designated stations (not pacemaker lines).

Pacers

Pacemaker targets are set per start wave on race day (Renntag): 50K/50M, 30K, 13.1M and 6.66K each have defined target finish times to aid pacing. Pacers run with flagged pacer bags to help participants maintain desired splits; exact target times are published in the Renntag schedule.

How muddy/wet will the course be?

The course will generally be wet and mucky in sections.

What is the terrain like?

The courses are strictly trail—dirty, rocky, rooty and hilly, often along a single track trail with occasional unmaintained sections.

Will the event go on rain or shine?

The event will go on rain or shine, with only possible delay in the event of lightning.

Is there a time limit?

Yes: 13.1M - 6 hours; 30K - 8 hours; 50K - 10 hours; 50M - 12.25 hours; Relay - 11 hours.

Can I register in person? by mail?

No – there will be no mail-in or in-person registration available.

Are there Finisher's Medals?

Yes, for all distances.

I was injured after registering for the race. Can I get a refund or defer until next year?

No – there will be NO refunds or deferments.

Can I switch race distances?

You may transfer your registration from one distance to another via your haku account.

Can I transfer my registration to a friend?

You may transfer your registration to a friend via your haku account.

Is there an age requirement for the races?

Participants must be 16 or older to participate in an ultra distance. There is no age requirement for marathon or less; all minors must submit a signed registration and a parent/guardian must be present on race day.

What is included with my entry fee?

Your race entry fee includes a finisher’s medal, aid station services, drop bag service for ultras, award eligibility, post‑race refreshments and final race results.

Can I wear headphones on the course?

We discourage the use of headphones on the DWD courses.

Are dogs allowed on the course? How about if on a leash?

As fond as we are of the K‑9 Corps, we will not allow them on the course for the comfort and safety of other runners.
