About

The Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn offers marathon, half marathon and 10 km through the city and the federal city of Bonn with a finish on the marketplace. The event is certified by DLV and aims to be participant-friendly and well organized with medical and catering services along the route.

Catering & aid stations

Beverage stations provide drinks and bananas; marathon runners can drop off at-course bags at each aid station. A separate catering village with extensive finish-area catering is available. No on-course hot meals; energy gels and chews recommended.

Pacers

Pace pace groups are published on the start/finish area target times per start wave. Pacers must carry the event’s pacer flag.

What is the minimum age for each distance?

Marathon: 18 years; Half marathon: 16 years; 10 km: 14 years.

Is the course certified and recognized for records?

Yes — the course is measured and certified by the German national federation (DLV), making results eligible for German and AIMS records.

Can I register as a team or for a relay?

Yes — relay and team options are available; see the ‘Team’ section on the registration page.

Are there time limits?

Yes: Marathon 6 hours, Half marathon 3 hours, 10 km 2 hours.

Where can I pick up my race materials?

Start materials (bib, timing chip if applicable) are picked up at the ‘Startunterlagen’ tent on the Hofgartenwiese on Friday 17:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–18:00.

Is there an age-based category or award?

Awards and age-group categories are offered; top age-group placings are recognized with trophies.

Are spectators allowed at the finish?

Yes — the finish area on the Marktplatz is open to the public.

What happens if I need to withdraw?

Withdrawals are only possible up to 18 April 2026 with a formal medical certificate; refunds are not available after that date.

Do I need insurance to participate?

Organizer recommends participant accident insurance; proof is not mandatory for registration.
