The Dyfi Aquathlon is the world’s longest aquathlon — a 13km swim in the Dyfi Estuary followed by a 13km trail run back to Aberdyfi along the Wales Coast Path. Organised by Dyfi Yacht Club with Open Tracking live tracking, it features early bird and relay options, dedicated logistics, and a festival atmosphere.
The coffee & cake morning hosted by Dovey Yacht Club raised £708 for Macmillan Cancer Support. On-course fuel and hydration will be provided at aid stations; specific offerings are confirmed closer to race day.
Pacemakers will be provided for the swim and run segments. During the swim, pacer kayakers and support boats will maintain target times per wave; on the run, pacer groups will align with scheduled start waves shown on the event app and marked at the start/finish. Target times vary by wave — see the event app for split guidance.
Monthly averages based on historical data (2000–present).
You must be able to sustain a minimum open water swim speed of 3km/h for 2h 30mins. The first 10km is similar to the Hurly Burly; the last 3km is the crux. No cut-off on the run.
Early bird entry: £95 (first 30). Standard entry: £105. Relay entry: £120. Register via the Checkout on the event site.
We provide expert guiding for small groups on The Tafol Tumble route and on the Hurly Burly route on the Mawddach estuary. Pacer kayakers and support boats will maintain target times per wave during the swim.
