About

Eastern States 100 is a 103.5-mile ultramarathon in the Pennsylvania Wilds, traversing the renowned Pine Creek Rail Trail and the area's largest creek with relentless climbs and technical terrain. Hosted by the Eastern States Trail-Endurance Alliance, the event also supports trailrunning stewardship and local communities.

Catering & aid stations

Aid stations offer water, Tailwind electrolyte drink, ginger ale, cola, soup, hot coffee; station-specific items include salt replacement foods (saltines, pretzels, chips), fruits (oranges, bananas, melon), potatoes, cookies, candies, sandwiches, vegetarian options and other station-specific specialties.

Pacers

Pacemaker information is available during registration and on the race-day schedule (Renntag); sessions list target times per Startwelle and Pacerflaggen. Contact race directors for pacers.

FAQ

Is there on-site registration and badging?

No on-site registration. Badging is available Friday 1:30–6:30pm at the Start/Finish Pavillon #2 at Little Pine State Park (mandatory). Race morning check-in runs 3:30–4:45pm; bibs are mailed to those not picked up in person. Photo ID required for check-in.

Can spectators follow the course?

The course is remote; spectators cannot follow or access most aid stations. All participants must be self-sufficient between staffed stations.

Are drop bags allowed?

No drop bags or vehicle support are permitted between checkpoints. All gear must be carried by the runner.

What about pacers and escorts?

Pacers and escorts are not allowed. The race is solo-only.

Is there a course map or elevation guide?

Yes. Interactive maps, elevation profile, and GPX files are available at https://www.easternstates100.com/course-map-charts (look for the Play icon to animate the course).

Is there a virtual option?

No virtual option; the race is in-person only.

What is the parking and access situation at the start/finish?

Free tent camping is available for participants and volunteers adjacent to the Start/Finish Pavillon #2 at Little Pine State Park. Vehicle parking is available; the park is located at 4205 Little Pine Creek Rd, Waterville, PA 17776. Note: The area requires traversing 1.5 miles of gravel/dirt access roads; trailers are not recommended.

Are there refunds or transfers?

No refunds or transfers are offered.
