Estes Park Marathon and Half Marathon — America’s most scenic marathon course, ranked among Forbes’ Top 7 Most Scenic Half Marathons in the USA. The event features rolling starts, iconic mountain views, and supports local youth programs through the Colorado Mountain Half Marathon Series.
Pacers
Pacemaker/Pacer events: The 'Sunrise Achievers' group for marathon and half marathon starts at 4:45AM; 'Rolling Start' for marathon runners begins 5:00–5:20AM. Half marathon participants use the same start/finish at the Dao House lower parking lot; Longs Peak 5K mass start is 8:00AM at the northeast of the High School building & The Observatory. Please select your bus departure at registration — buses are free but limited — and arrive early for packet pickup.

Approximately every 2 miles throughout the marathon and half-marathon courses. All Aid Stations will have a Porta- let or a restroom (along the Lake Estes trail). Water, Gatorade and gels available. What should I do if I encounter wildlife?
Scenic, peaceful, not crowded, and ranked as “top 7 scenic in the USA” by Forbes magazine. All races take place on mostly paved surfaces. The Marathon & Half Marathon are downhill for the first 6.5 and 7 miles. The Marathon has additional climbing beginning at mile 12, but at mile 16 you will begin a gorgeous rolling descent that has full view of the snow capped mountain range!
