A timed trail race held in Japanese Gulch, Mukilteo, WA, featuring a 2.18-mile loop where runners complete successive laps with decreasing cut-off times until a single Last Person Standing is determined.
Aid station at start/finish offering water, Gatorade, soda, bananas, potato chips, and menstrual products. No food or drink is allowed on the course.
The race uses pacemakers indicated by flags on the course. For the first eight laps, the clockwise direction is mandatory for fastest-lap competition; after lap eight, direction alternates each lap. Pacers set split targets per Startwave: Lap 1 cut-off 32 minutes, subsequent laps 31 minutes, reducing by 1 minute each lap until Lap 12 (marathon distance), then by 30 seconds per lap until one runner remains.
Monthly averages based on historical data (2000–present).
The race takes place at Adam and Josie Braddock’s property in Mukilteo, WA (Japanese Gulch).
Bring your own cup to reduce waste; cups are available at the aid station.
Each loop is 2.18 miles (≈3.5 km) with about 250 ft (≈76 m) of elevation gain.
Yes, anyone is welcome to walk or run laps for fun — just start after the racers to minimize disruption.
