FAQ

Who can participate and is there an age limit?

The Kids Hafenlauf is open to children born between 2015 and 2020 (school years U8–U12). All children within that range may take part; there is no competitive age restriction beyond the stated years.

How long is the route and where is the start/finish?

The route is approximately one sea mile (1.852 km), starting and finishing at Steinhöft (Alsterfleet), running along the Elbe promenade during the Hafengeburtstag.

What is the entry fee and what does it include?

Registration fee is €8.37 if paid online by 26 April 2026, increasing to €10.00 thereafter. The fee includes timing with a transponder and a participation medal for all finishers; certificates are available for download only.

What should I bring and how do I collect my start materials?

Bring a printed or digital confirmation and your start number (wear it visibly on the upper outer layer). Collect your documents on Sunday, 10 May 2026 between 08:00–09:40 at the start/finish area (blue tents at Baumwall).

Are parents allowed to accompany the runners?

Parents are encouraged not to accompany children during the race for safety and course flow. Volunteers, marshals, and support boats will guide the runners.

What happens if I do not finish or miss my start time?

If you start from the wrong wave you may not receive a finish time or medal. If you cannot finish, note there is no on-site refund; refunds must be processed according to registration terms.
