About
The Hartfüßler Trail revives 250 years of coal-mining heritage, inviting participants to traverse historic trails in the Saarland forest. The event offers multiple distances from 7.5km to 58km with varying elevation gains, set each August in Saarbrücken.
Catering & aid stations
First aid station offers water and isotonic beverages at the first station. From the second station onward bananas, melons, cucumbers, pretzels, energy bars, bread, sausages, cheese, and cake are provided. Starting at the third station, there is additionally Coca-Cola, beer, and malt beer. Regional specialties are offered at the fifth station.
Pacers
The event is an index race for UTMB World Series: the 30 km counts 1 point and 3 Mountain Points, and the 58 km counts 3 points and 3 Mountain Points for ITRA; 14 km and 7.5 km do not award ITRA points. UTMB registration for the 30 km and 58 km requires UTMB Stones in addition to this index score. The 58 km starts at 08:00, the 30 km at 10:00, the 14 km and 7.5 km at 11:00. A 15 minute briefing is mandatory 15 minutes before each start. All participants must adhere to a 6-hour overall time limit (18:00).

What is the registration deadline and price for each distance?
Early registration closes four weeks before the event with lower prices: 58km €48, 30km €32, 14km €18, 7.5km €14, 30km Wandern €32. Late registration (up to race day) costs: 58€58, 30km€37, 14km€21, 7.5km€17, 30km Wandern€42. On-site registration is also available if capacity remains.
Is there an age limit and equipment requirements?
Minimum ages: 7.5km/14km 12 years, 30km/TW 30 16 years, 58km 18 years. Dogs are not allowed; trekking poles are permitted. Mandatory equipment is checked at pickup.
What are the start times and cutoffs?
58km Trail: 08:00 (cutoff 18:00). 30km Trail: 10:00 (cutoff 16:00). 30km Wandern: 08:15 (cutoff 18:00). 14km Trail: 11:00 (cutoff 18:00). 7.5km Trail: 11:00 (cutoff 18:00). Briefing is mandatory 15 minutes before each start.
