About
Helvetia Backyard Ultra is an elimination ultramarathon held on a roughly 6.7 km woodland loop near Oberwil-Lieli in the Canton of Aargau. Each round is one hour long, with a full-hour start wave; the last runner standing wins. The event is set in a scenic forest with aid stations and a communal buffet.
Catering & aid stations
Food and drinks are provided at the Waldhütte at several points during the event — from a cold buffet available all day to hot meals (pasta, soups, risotto) at set times.
Pacers
Runners are paced through each hourly wave. On the race day, a briefing at 11:40 precedes the 12:00 start; pacers and Pacerflaggen are used to guide each wave. The last runner standing (L.O.S.E.R.) completes the final solo loop.
