FAQ

When and where do packet pick-up and the expo take place?

The Expo and Packet Pick-Up are Friday, April 30, 3:00–7:00 PM and Saturday, May 1, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM at the OC Fair & Event Center (88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626). 5K runners are encouraged to pick up packets Saturday afternoon. Packet pick-up is required for all in-person participants; virtual runners receive shipped packets.

What is the course time limit and support cutoff?

The full marathon has a 7-hour time limit; the half marathon is 3.5 hours. Course support (water, medical, signage) closes at the listed cutoffs; after that, runners are on their own and may use support vehicles to return to the finish.

Are there pace groups or pacers?

Yes—pace groups with target times (for example, 3:00 and 3:15 h waves) are provided and led by pacers; this is included in standard race services.

Can I transfer or defer my registration?

Transfers must be completed by mid-April and deferred registrations must be requested by mid-April as well; fees apply and spaces are not guaranteed. Details are in the Registration Info and Registration Upgrades pages.

What challenges and perks are available?

Challenges include the Beach Cities Challenge (surf, half, full consecutively) and Combo Crush (5K + half/full the next morning). Legacy runners (3 consecutive years) receive a sling bag, exclusive gift, and access to the Legacy Lounge with free pizza.
