About
A festive Ekiden relay held on a scenic loop through Kapiolani Park, featuring teams, a 5K Fun Run & Walk, and a Kids Challenge that emphasize community, teamwork, and Pacific Rim connection.
Catering & aid stations
Light refreshments are provided near the finish line for all finishers. During the race, aid stations with water and toilets are set up at the relay point and the turnaround on Diamond Head Road.
Pacers
Pacers set target times per start wave on race day (Renntag). The event uses a pacer flag system to guide each wave toward the 4-hour overall time limit for Ekiden teams; no pacing is provided for the 5K Fun Run & Walk or Kids Challenge.

What is the Honolulu Rainbow EKIDEN race all about?
It is a loop-course Ekiden relay emphasizing unity and teamwork: every runner runs the same 5K loop, and those waiting can cheer together. The final leg allows all teammates to cross the finish line together. Each loop is 5K (3.2 miles), welcoming runners age 7+.
How can I enter and what are the fees?
Register online via the Entry page. Fees vary by period: Early entry for Team Ekiden is €200/team (by May 31), Regular €250/team (by July 31), Late €300/team (by Aug 22). For 5K Fun Run & Walk: Early €40/person, Regular €50/person, Late €60/person. Kids Challenge Early €20/child, Regular €30/child.
What is the time limit and are races timed?
Ekiden teams have a 4-hour time limit from the start. The overall Ekiden is timed; the 5K Fun Run & Walk and Kids Challenge are not timed.

What on-course support is available?
