About

A rugged trail festival in the Hunua Ranges offering 60km Ultramarathon, 42.2km Trail Marathon and 22km Trail Run/Walk through native bush with mountain views, creek crossings and hilltop moana-style finisher medals; includes camping, shuttles and post-race hoedown.

Catering & aid stations

Water, Pure Electrolyte Drink & Gels, Coke, Bananas, Strawberries, Oranges, Potato Chips, Gingernuts, Lollies & Chocolate; Boiled Potatoes and Sandwiches at 24.4km (Marathon) / 42.2km (60km). Toilets at 4.2km, 16.8km, 24.4km, 29.8km, 38.4km and 56.2km.

Pacers are provided for the 60km Ultramarathon and Marathon. Refer to the event page for specific start wave target times and pacer-flag requirements.

On-course water, electrolytes, Coke, bananas, strawberries, oranges, chips, gingernuts, lollies and chocolate; boiled potatoes and sandwiches at aid stations
All finishers receive a medal; ultramarathon finishers get a cowbell, marathon and 22km get a Kōkako medal

Free shuttle van from event base to two viewing points on course for 60km and Marathon participants
Well-stocked aid stations with marshals; supervised kid’s dash with timing and medals

Are there cut-off times?

Yes; typical cut-offs: 60km 15h (8pm), Marathon 12h (8pm), 22km 9h (8pm). Exact times are listed on the event page.

Is camping available?

Yes, camping is available at Upper Mangatawhiri Campground as part of the event experience; it can be added during registration.

What is the refund policy?

Full credit if cancelled with >2 weeks notice; 50% credit if cancelled within 2 weeks. Illness/injury transfers permitted with a $20 admin fee (see full terms on the website).
