About

An extremely difficult, point-to-point mountain race through the western San Juan Mountains connecting Ouray and Telluride via 13,114-foot Imogene Pass. Known for rapidly changeable alpine weather, steep dirt climbs and historic mining terrain.

Aid stations with beverages, snacks and fruit; refreshment service at the finish.

Pacers

Pacemaker groups align with target times per start wave displayed at the race briefing and on the start cordons (Pacerflaggen). Pacers help runners maintain goal pace to the summit and are available at major checkpoints.

FAQ

Do I need to bring my own timing chip?

No — chip timing is provided. You must wear the issued bib and present a valid photo ID at check-in.

Are refunds allowed?

No refunds, transfers or deferrals are permitted. Registration is non-transferable and use is personal.

What should I wear in bad weather?

Race organizers recommend a hat, gloves and jacket; polypropylene or wicking layers. Cotton is not allowed. In threatening weather, participants may be asked to turn back at Upper Camp Bird.
