The 15th annual Jack T. Farrar, Jr. “Fill the Shoes” 5K run/walk in Hayfield Farm, Alexandria VA — a community race to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. In-person packet pickup and race-day registration available.

Pacemaker groups will be set on the race morning using target times published on the event site and Reston Road Runners will provide pacing volunteers and Pacers on course with Pacerflaggen.

Where can I register and what are the deadlines?
Register online via the official registration page (https://www.active.com/alexandria-va/running/distance-running-races/jack-t-farrar-jr-fill-the-shoes-5k-2026). Online registration closes at 10:00 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2025. Packet pickup on November 6 costs $40 (cash or check), and race-day registration costs $40 (cash or check).
What are the price tiers?
Early registration: $25 (until October 12, 2025). Standard registration: $30 (October 12 – November 5, 2025). Late registration: $40 (November 6 – race day). Packet pickup and race-day registration are cash or check only.
What is included in the race package?
All registrants receive a long-sleeve technical moisture-wicking race shirt and a Fill the Shoes car magnet. Top male and female finishers receive pint glass awards in age categories.
Where is the event and what is the route?
The race starts and finishes at Hayfield Park (7611 Hayfield Rd, Alexandria, VA 22315). It is a multiple-loop course throughout the Hayfield Farm neighborhood.
What amenities are available on race day?
On-course hydration and light snacks, with a post-race party featuring food, drinks, and raffle prizes.
