About
The Mad Trapper Relentless is a fall ultra and trail race held at The Ark in Denholm, Quebec — just north of Ottawa in the Gatineau Hills. Distances range from 3K to 50K, including 21K and 30K options, with UTMB Index and ITRA recognition and free wilderness camping for registered racers.
Catering & aid stations
BBQ at finish featuring local burgers, vegetarian burgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, and beer — prepared by Monique and the team.
Pacers
The Basset Ear Prediction Run (8km, April 18, 2026 at 10am) asks you to predict your finish time by writing it on a board at the start. After the run, check the board to see how close you were, collect a sticker with your finish time, and enjoy a Basset Ear with famous Mad Trapper brownies and beer — no clocks or phones allowed during the race.

FAQ
Do I need to bring a dog to participate in the Mica Run?
No — dogs are welcome but not required. The Mica Run offers 3k, 5k, and 10k options for runners whether or not they bring their dog.
Is this event suitable for children?
Yes — many families participate. The trails are twisty and turny with rocks and roots; kids often see them as fun obstacles while adults may find them challenging.

We are a grassroots trail race series hosted on our own 164-acre private trail network in Denholm, Quebec. Known for no-cutoff policies, fair & fun random prize drawings, and an unforgettable post-race BBQ celebration.
