A 53-mile feral, unforgiving trail race in the Catskill wilderness with 15,000 ft of vertical ascent, designed to slow and break you open over a self-sufficient 23-hour window.

Catering & aid stations

Aid stations: AS#1 water only; AS#2–AS#8 full service; AS#5 & AS#9 cutoff-limited access; no crew access at specified cutoffs.

Pacers

Pacemaker not permitted. The race features start waves with target times per wave; no pacers or pacifier flags are allowed—runners must be self-sufficient.

FAQ

Who can register and when?

Past finishers may register from 01 FEB. General registration opens 22 FEB. Registration is via a waitlist on ultrsignup.com.

What are the qualification requirements?

Must have completed a 50+ mile trail/mountain race with ≥8,000 ft vertical gain within the last two years; no pacers allowed; non-qualifying events (OCR, road marathons) do not qualify.

What is the refund policy?

Full refund minus Ultrasignup fee until 01 MAY. After 01 MAY, refunds only at race director’s discretion for extreme circumstances. 80% refund possible if requested by 01 MAY.

What gear is mandatory?

1.0+ liters water, 300+ calories, headlamp, cell phone. Recommended: GPS watch or offline GPS route. Drop bags allowed (max 18x18x24 in) labeled with name, bib, checkpoint.
