Directions Call to Performers About Us Calendar
The 10K is the kickoff to the Market Square Day Festival. For 2026, that’s Saturday, June 13th. How can I participate? You can register online (Registration opens in February). Can I register on race day? The short answer is no. For 2026, all registration closes on 6/9 or when we reach 1,000 participants; whichever comes first. I can’t run, can I give my bib to someone else? The short answer is no, but you can identify a replacement runner and initiate a transfer, click here for details. Can I have someone pick up my bib? In order to have a friend or family member pick up your bib, please follow our procedure noted here. Can I run without a bib? The short answer: no. Running without a bib (Bandit) OR running with someone else’s bib is a health & safety issue as a bib/number carries with it important information for race organizers, health and safety officials. We do allow for bibs transfers – that process will be noted on the road race menu; all transfers must be coordinated through Pro Portsmouth. Is the course USATF sanctioned and certified? It is! Please refer to our course information (re-certified April 2022, good through December 2032). Where is the start line? The race begins in front of the North Church at Market Square in Downtown Portsmouth at 9am. What is the course like? Our 10K winds its way throughout Portsmouth – Downtown, various neighborhoods, ending at Strawberry Banke Museum. There are straight-a-ways and hills and the typical challenges of a longer race requiring the type of stamina you get by training for a longer race! Do you offer storage for personal belongings? Will we have the ability to access post-race showers? The short answer to both is no; we do not have the facilities to offer showers or storage. Where is the finish line? The finish line is on Marcy Street – Prescott Park is to your right, Strawberry Banke to your left. Can I bring my dog? Dogs are prohibited on the course and at our Hospitality Area Strawbery Banke; the museum does welcome licensed service dogs. Can I run with a stroller? Running with strollers is allowed – we ask that you run at the back of the ‘pack’. Amplified sound/music on the course (transported on strollers, etc.) is prohibited; ear buds are not recommended.
