Matching 10K CIC (Community Interest Company) has been set up with the sole purpose of establishing a community based 10km road race event. We are affiliated to England Athletics and our Certificate Number is 7694029. The route takes runners through the beautiful rural landscapes of west Essex and East Hertfordshire communities. It will be a truly unique experience, as this route can only be accessed on this one day. Part of the run is on private land that will be opened exclusively for this race event!
Two water stations: one near Matching Church (~6km) and one at the finish on Matching Village Green. Finish area provides water and recovery drinks; spectators can access the finish area and a cheer station at The Fox Inn, Matching Tye.
Race starts at 10:00 from Potash Road opposite Stock Hall in Matching Green (the start is also the finish). The course is a marshalled road loop with gentle undulations; runners are assigned start waves by expected time. Pacers will lead their waves and will display pacer flagging; note headphones/earbuds are prohibited per UKA rules, while bone‑conduction headphones are allowed.
Monthly averages based on historical data (2000–present).
Race packs can be collected at Harlow Park Run (Greyhound Car Park) on Saturday 2 May after the run, Sunday 3 May 1pm–3pm at the Cricket Pavilion on Matching Village Green, or Monday 4 May (race day) 8:00–9:30 at Race HQ on Matching Village Green.
The finish is on Matching Village Green behind the cricket pavilion, with water stations, finishers’ tees, and space for spectators. Bag drop is available in the Cricket Pavilion with a £2 donation.
Earphones and earbuds are prohibited. Bone‑conduction headphones are permitted for safety.
