About

The Mayhill Massacre is a tough cross-country run up May Hill in Gloucestershire, featuring steep climbs, muddy trails and great scenery. A weekend event with both a challenging race and an extra-loop May Hill Mayhem option on Sunday.

Catering & aid stations

Water and tea/coffee at the finish; water stations on route. No on-course food — please carry any snacks you need and hydrate frequently.

Pacers

Staggered starts are used for safety. Pacers will be present on the course with pacer flags to help participants maintain target times per wave. Pacers and their duties are detailed in the race briefing.

Do I need to detach from my dog during the race?

Yes — for safety at some marked sections you must detach from your dog. Follow marshal instructions.

What about the canicross rules and equipment?

Is there a cut-off time?

Yes — a 1 hour cutoff to reach the water station at ~4 miles. For Sunday’s Mayhem, first-lap cutoff is 1h 45m. If you are outside the cutoff, transport back to start will be arranged.

What about toilets and showers?

Toilets are available on site; there are no showers.
