About

Vermont's sweetest half marathon, 10K, and 5K fun run held each October in Middlebury, featuring scenic routes with views of the Green Mountains and Adirondacks, a mix of trail and paved surfaces, awards, and post-race breakfast.

Catering & aid stations

Aid stations along the course provide water, electrolyte drink mix, orange slices, band-aids, and Vaseline. Post-race complimentary breakfast available for registered participants (while supplies last).

Pacers

Complimentary race pacing services are offered with target pacer times for each start wave: 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, and 2:45 per mile for half marathon. Pacers display identifying flagging to help runners maintain goal pace. No sign-up necessary—find your pace group at the starting line.

FAQ

What courses are used for the half marathon, 10K, and 5K?

All distances start and finish at the MREMS/Porter parking lot. The half marathon uses a scenic route through South Street, Weybridge Street, Morgan Horse Farm Road, the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), and South Street Extension. The 10K continues on an out-and-back on South Street Extension. The 5K returns directly to the start via South Street Extension.

What time does the race start?

All distances start at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Is there parking at the start/finish?

No parking is available immediately at the start/finish area. The closest parking is around the arts and athletics complex at Middlebury College. A free shuttle runs from 7:30 a.m. to the start area.

Do I get a medal and swag?

Yes. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal and a complimentary 2025 Maple Run cinch bag. An optional 1/4-zip long-sleeve shirt is available for purchase.

Can I walk or bring a stroller/dog?

Walking is permitted but participants must maintain a 13-minute-per-mile pace. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on any race course for safety and insurance reasons.

What are the registration fees?

Half Marathon: Adult €65 (early), €75 (regular), €85 (race day); Student €65. 10K: Adult €50 (early), €65 (regular), €75 (race day); Student €45. 5K: Adult €45 (early), €50 (regular), €55 (race day); Student €35. Under-12 5K: €25.

Can I register on race day?

Yes. In-person registration is available Saturday, Oct. 18 (4–6 p.m.) at Middlebury Regional EMS and Sunday, Oct. 19 (starting at 7:30 a.m.) at the race start area.

What about refunds or transfers?

Transfers are allowed within the same distance and category; no refunds are offered, so price differences apply if moving to a lower-cost event.
