About

Military Cross is a running race with special features that takes place in the beautiful setting of the Bellinzona Castles. The race is divided into four legs and can be run individually or in teams. The special features of this footrace with military roots are as follows: before the second leg you have to compete in a throwing exercise where accuracy is the main focus; the second leg is done by bicycle; and at the end of the fourth and final leg you compete in a shooting exercise with a biathlon rifle.

Catering & aid stations

After each track, there will be beverage stands, and a standing dinner will be offered after the closing ceremony.

Pacers

There will be pacers to assist runners with target times during the event. Look for the flags indicating pacers at the start area.

I'm not in the army, may I partecipate?

Yes of course! The race is open for everyone.

From when is it possible to register for the next edition?

Around February.

Until when is it possible to submit a registration?

Online registration closes Thursday (midnight). The day of the race it is possible to register on site (Centro G+S Bellinzona), from 10:00 to 12:00.

When will I get my starting number?

The day of the race at the race office (Centro G+S, 6500 Bellinzona), from 10:00 to 13:30. You will get some gifts too.

How can I train for the in-race-tests (fake grenade throw and shooting with air rifle)?

The day of the race, from 11:00 to 12:00 and from 13:15 to 14:15, there is the possibility to try the launch of the grenade (in the Torretta area) and the shooting with the air rifle (Piazza del Sole). Family and friends are also welcome to take a try!

Is there something to eat?

Within the registration form you can book for the lunch at Centro G+S, 6500 Bellinzona (CHF 15/person). During the race, after each track there is a stand with beverages and after the closing cerimony a standing dinner will be offered (Piazza del Sole, 6500 Bellinzona).

How do I reach the start of section 4?

We are organizing a shuttle service that will take runners from the G+S Center to the start of section 4.
