A scenic half marathon and two-mile race held in Parkersburg, WV each August, featuring a pre-race pasta dinner, water stops along the course, and a post-race pizza luncheon.

Catering & aid stations

Pre-race pasta dinner on Friday, Aug. 14 (4:30–9 p.m.); post-race pizza luncheon on Saturday (11 a.m.–1 p.m.). Gluten-free pasta available by request. Food/drink offered at 16 aid stations along the half marathon course starting at the 1.5 mile mark.

Pacers

Pacers set target times per Startwave on race day. Look for Pacerflaggen on the course; pace groups align with advertised wave start times. Pacers help runners maintain goal pace for the Half Marathon and Two-Mile Race.

What is the minimum age for the Half Marathon?

Minimum age to participate in the Half Marathon is 15.

Where can I pick up my race packet?

Packets can be picked up at the Parkersburg Municipal Building (1 Government Square) on Aug. 14 from 2–9 p.m. or on race day from 6–7 a.m. No race-day registration for Half Marathon or Two-Mile Race.

Are there water stops on the course?

Yes, there are 16 aid stations offering water and Gatorade starting at the 1.5 mile mark for the Half Marathon; the Two-Mile Race also has water stops.

What awards are available?

Prize money for NCAA eligible runners is donated to Newspapers in Education. Open awards: Half Marathon (8:00 am start): 1st $1,000, 2nd $750, 3rd $500; Two-Mile Race awards presented at Bicentennial Park.

Can I bring guests to the pasta dinner or pizza luncheon?

Guests and two-milers may buy dinner tickets at the door at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall and luncheon tickets at the door; half marathon entry includes the pasta dinner.
