An iconic Niagara running experience offering marathon, half-marathon, and 10K with direct views of Niagara Falls. A not-for-profit community-driven event featuring scenic river and Parkway routes.
Pacers set target times per Startwave on race day (see Renntag für Laufende). Pacerflaggen identify lead pacers for each wave to help runners maintain goal pace along the scenic Niagara Parkway out-and-back course.
Monthly averages based on historical data (2000–present).
Unfortunately, the event maintains a No Refund and No Deferral policy. No exceptions.
If you purchased the insurance when you registered, please CLICK HERE to submit your request. Please note that this is processed through a third party, Fan Shield, and the Niagara Falls Marathon does not process these requests.
Yes! We do allow registrants to transfer (sell) your bib to someone else and can be done directly in your race roster profile without our assistance. Approximate cost is $13.00. The deadline to transfer bibs is October 7th at 10:00am.
Yes! Subject to distance availability, registrants can change their distance in their race roster profile. There is a small transfer fee plus the difference in price (if moving up distances).
Online registration will close on September 30th at 10:00am.
Strollers are not allowed for any distance.
Unfortunately, due to the size of the races and starting corral areas, non-service dogs are not permitted.
16 years, as of race day is the minimum age for the half-marathon. 18 years, as of race day is the minimum age for the marathon.
Unfortunately, not. Once the transfer deadline has passed it is no longer possible and cannot be done on-site. Due to safety and insurance reasons, IDs will be checked to verify registrants during on-site registration.
The first 3.5km of the course must be completed by 9:00am. This restriction is in place to ensure that local tourist attractions and traffic can flow through, as this is a high-volume area. This gives Half-Marathon and Marathon runners 45 minutes to reach this checkpoint and will be strictly enforced. The course closes at 3:00pm.
Yes! The Niagara Falls Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon
Yes! There is a bag check close to the start/corral area. We will have clear bags to use along with bag tags to mark with your name/bib number. You can also check a small bag or backpack. Please have your bib with you when returning to pick up your bag so the volunteers can verify it is yours. Please leave your valuables in your car or with a friend/family member as the Niagara Falls Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen items, including those checked at the race.
No. All races start, finish and run entirely within Canada.
We will continue to assess whether this is possible for future years of the Marathon. Logistical, operational and cost challenges have not allowed this section of the race to return since the pandemic and we are very excited about the courses we have in Canada!
We strongly discourage wearing any listening devices while running due to safety reasons. Runners should be alert and able to hear direction from volunteers, race officials, their fellow competitors and event/emergency vehicles.
Unfortunately, due to course and time restrictions, we have to limit the number of runners in each distance to ensure a positive race experience. Once a distance is full, we will not have a wait list, or new spots come available. Sorry, no exceptions.
Start line is on Fallsview Blvd, between Murray St and Robinson St. Approximately 1km from the fnish line.
The Marathon, Half-Marathon and 10K run out and back during the first portion of their race with direct views of Niagara Falls! Unfortunately, the 5K does not.
Paid parking is available at many municipal and private lots close to both the start and finish lines, along with at local hotels and the casino. More parking options/details will be included in the runner’s guide sent out closer to the event.
We recommend arriving at least 1 hour prior to your race’s start time.
