Celebrate the country’s 250th birthday with a 4-mile walk/run on July 4th featuring two waves, a scenic waterfront course along St. Pete’s pier, and post-race festivities including pie eating, ice cream, pizza, popsicles, and fireworks.
One hydration station on course; post-race party with July 4th food and adult beverages from Green Bench Brewing Company and 3 Daughters Brewing.
Two start waves: Wave 1 at 6:15 am, Wave 2 at 7:45 am. Target pacer times aligned to waves. Pacers and pacer flags included in entry fee.

RaceRoster online registration closes on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at midnight, unless all events sell out prior. In-person registration on the RaceRoster site available November 13-14, 2026 at packet pick-up, unless an event is sold out.

Yes, there is a post-run party with local food, craft beer, and entertainment.
Strollers are allowed on the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K courses. Please position yourself to the back of the group start.
We love them too, but for your safety, and the safety of your fellow participants, dogs are not allowed on the course. Dogs are allowed in the public parks, but not on the beach or in the water. There is a dog park at Vinoy Park, not far from the race site.
You can walk in the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K, but please be aware of the course time limit of 4 hours for the Half Marathon, 2 hours for 10K, and 1 hour for the 5K.
Yes, spectators are welcome, and we will have spectator zones along the course, as well as a vibrant finish line area for spectators to cheer their runner.
The average weather in mid-November is sunny and 70 degrees, with the average high of 76 degrees, and average low of 62 degrees. The Half Marathon temps will most likely be in the mid-60’s. St. Pete holds the Guinness record for most consecutive days of sunshine!

Yes, the minimum age for the Half Marathon is 12, the minimum age for the 10K is 10, the minimum age for the 5K is 8, and the minimum age for the PeliKids Youth Runs is 1.
Entries and bib numbers can not be given to someone else outside of the Race Roster transfer system, but entries can be transferred to another participant through the Race Roster transfer process, prior to October 31, 2026. Unauthorized bib transfer can have serious consequences to the organizers and participants. From race results and awards, to liability and medical staff being able to correctly identify participants in need of treatment, it is imperative that the registration data associated with your race number does in fact belong to you. Participants who violate this rule will be barred from future entry.
Yes, you can defer your entry for 2026 by October 30th, 2026, and receive a code for 75% of your entry fee to be used towards registration for the 2027 event. Please see the Refund Policy on the REGISTRATION page for details. To defer, please email claire@stpeterunfest.org
Yes, you can change your details within the RaceRoster system by following instructions in your confirmation email. If you have any problems we can make the changes for you – please e-mail claire@stpeterunfest.org

Yes, you can switch to the 10K or 5K via the Race Roster transfer process, but the remainder of the Half Marathon entry fee is non-refundable. There is a $15 transfer fee.
Yes, you can switch your entry to the Half Marathon event via Race Roster, and the RaceRoster site will charge you the difference in entry fee. There is a $15 transfer fee.

Yes, if an event is not already sold out, you may register at Packet Pick-up. Please note the increase in entry fee if you register at Packet Pick-up. Also, we can not guarantee that your desired shirt size will be available. There is NO race day registration, except for the Kids Run (if it’s not sold out).

To pick up your packet, you will need to bring a photo ID. It is helpful to bring a copy of your email confirmation, but it is not required.
Yes, if you are absolutely unable to pick up your own packet in person, you can have someone else pick up your packet, however they will need to bring these TWO things: a copy of your photo ID, and a printed/signed copy of the Packet Pick-Up Authorization Form. Your bib will not be released to another person unless BOTH of these items are brought to packet pick-up – NO EXCEPTIONS.

The 10K starts at 7am on Saturday. The 5K starts at 8:45am on Saturday. The Half Marathon starts at 7am on Sunday.
Your timing chip, which comes attached to your run bib, will record your official time when you run over the timing mats.
Yes, the Half Marathon time limit is 4 hours, the 10K time limit is 2 hours, and the 5K time limit is 1 hour. If you are still on the course after this time, you will be transported to the finish.
Yes, there will be water and Gatorade on the Half Marathon, 10K & 5K courses.
Yes, there will be porta-potties on the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K courses, located at hydration stations. There will also be porta-potties at the start.
You can wear headphones, however, we encourage you to forego the headphones so that you can enjoy all of the sights, sounds, and entertainment on the course. If you do wear headphones, please keep the volume low for safety.

Yes, we have a gear/bag check area located in Albert Whitted Park near the start line. Please bring your own bag, or use the reusable bag given to you at packet pick-up. In an effort to reduce plastic waste, we will not provide plastic bags. You can include a change of clothes/shoes, and car keys if necessary, but please secure valuables (watches, jewelry, cell phones) in your car, give them to friends/family who are spectating, or leave them at home. **There is NO gear check for the July 4th Pier Run**
Yes, these will be led by experienced runners on our St. Pete Half Marathon Pace Team. Pacer groups are 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, 3:00, 3:15 and 3:30.
