About
A combined fast-trail and challenging ascent race on the Pennine Bridleway from Hayfield to Rushup Edge and back, offering Peak District scenery and a ‘low-key, great-value’ spring trail experience.
Catering & aid stations
On-course: snacks, fruit, water. At HQ: tea/coffee and soft drinks. Pike hut with hot food and refreshments at the finish.
Pacers
All entries start together; runners decide how far to go (70km or 100km options described on the High Peak pages). Course notes and a GPX are provided to registered entrants; on-course volunteers and a safety team are present.

Are Ranger Ultras courses marked?
All routes are on public rights of way with permanent signage and finger posts; the PB18 uses official Pennine Bridleway markers.
Do I have to carry a headtorch?
Yes — any number of foreseeable circumstances could delay a runner; carry spare batteries or a charged rechargeable light and a charged mobile phone.
Is there race insurance?
From 2022 there is an opt-in event non-participation insurance facility (provided through Si-Entries) on their race entry page.
