The Portsea Bay To Surf, hosted by Portsea Surf Life Saving Club, is a community fun run/walk with 4.5km and 9km routes starting at Jarman Oval within Point Nepean National Park and finishing at Portsea Back Beach. Pacers

Pacers will lead the 9km and 4.5km runs with target start waves listed on the Race Day schedule (Renntag). Follow pacing flags and marshal instructions on the course; pace groups align with advertised target times to help runners maintain goal pace.

What are the start times for each distance?

4.5km walk starts at 5:00 PM, 4.5km run at 6:00 PM, and 9km run at 6:15 PM. All times are local on race day (January 16, 2026) at the start area (Jarman Oval, Quarantine Station, Point Nepean National Park).

Where is the event located and how do I register?

The event starts at Jarman Oval, Quarantine Station, Point Nepean National Park, and finishes at Portsea Back Beach. Registration can be completed on the day at the start area via QR code using a smartphone (one-day entry); payment by cash or credit card on the day is accepted.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear running/walking shoes and comfortable clothing; bring sun protection, water bottle, and a light layer if needed. Bags for personal items are available to transport from start to finish.
