A memorial running event honoring Steve Prefontaine, featuring a chip-timed 10K and a 2‑mile fun walk/welcome run along scenic routes in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Catering & aid stations

Water stations and sanitary stations (sani cans) will be set up at several points along the 10K and 2‑mile fun walk courses.

Pacers

Pacemakers will be present for the 10K and the 2‑mile fun walk, leading their respective start waves shown on the start schedule (Renntag für Laufende). Expect experienced pacers to help runners maintain target effort.

What are the registration options and fees?

Register online at prefontainerun.net or mail to Prefontaine Memorial Run, P.O. Box 1380, Coos Bay, OR 97420. Fees: $45 for open 10K and 2‑mile fun walk (ages 19+) through 9/15, then $55. Ages 18 and under: $25 through 9/15, then $35. High school 5K team entries are $15 per runner (team cap $300) via athletic.net.

When and where can I pick up race packets?

Packets (t‑shirts and medallions) can be picked up at St. Monica Parish Hall on the registration days listed under REGISTRATION.

Is there prize money and an awards ceremony?

Yes: equal prize money for top three men and women in the 10K ($500, $300, $200). Awards ceremony for overall men’s and women’s 10K winners at 11:30 A.M. on the Prefontaine Track; divisional awards at noon.
