About

Relay Iowa is the world's longest relay run: a 3-day, 24-hour-a-day, 339-mile adventure across Iowa. Teams of up to 12 runners traverse the state from Sioux City to Dubuque, passing checkpoints and pit stops for meals, rest, and support.

Catering & aid stations

Three meals are provided: spaghetti dinner in Ida Grove (Fri), pancake breakfast in Jewell (Sat), and BBQ at the finish in Dubuque (Sun). Teams are responsible for all other food and drinks along the route.

Pacers

Relay Iowa is a relay, not a race. Teams divide 339 miles among themselves with no prescribed order or distances. There are no pace requirements, but teams must keep moving to finish within the 60-hour limit and checkpoints monitor progress.
