About

A 100-mile endurance run set in the Sierra-Nevada foothills along Folsom Lake, combining trail and pavement with scenic oak woodlands, meadows, bridges, and creeks.

Catering & aid stations

Aid stations offer assorted GU energy products (caffeinated and non-caffeinated gels), water, Skratch hydration sports drinks (Lemon+Lime non-caffeinated and Raspberry Limeade caffeinated), Coke, Ginger Ale, Red Bull, boiled potatoes and a complete line of ultra sweet and salty foods. All stations provide PB&J and JAMBARS Organic Energy Bars (Musical Mango, Malt Nut Melody, Chocolate Cha Cha, Jammin’ Jazzleberry). Nighttime stations feature hot veggie broth soup and quesadillas. Due to the cupless policy, participants must bring their own cups for aid stations.

Pacers

Pacers are provided with target times per Startwave displayed at the start and on the event website. Pacers carry flags to identify their wave. Refer to the official Rio Del Lago pacing schedule for assigned target times and pacer responsibilities.

FAQ

Do I have to finish the 100 miles to complete the event?

No — the event allows participants to finish either the 100 Mile or the 50K. You can choose your distance at the start and are not required to complete the longer distance.

Are there age restrictions or participant requirements?

The event recommends participants be at least 21 years old by race day and requires a mandatory crew briefing for safety and course protocol.

What happens if I’m not finished by the time limit?

The course will remain open past the official cutoffs; however, aid stations will stop serving hot food after the specified times. Plan your nutrition and pacing accordingly and consult the event cut-off details in the participant guide.

Can I volunteer or spectate at the event?

Volunteer signups are managed through the official event page. Spectators are welcome at designated locations, but certain aid stations are NO CREW zones — please review the no-crew access list to avoid disqualification.
