1. My Race Pack Hasn’t Arrived Yet – What Should I Do?

Don’t worry if your race pack hasn’t arrived in time for the event. Simply visit the Information Unit in The Parade on Sunday morning, where our team will be happy to issue you with a replacement race number so you can take part as planned.

2. When is the Royal Sutton Fun Run taking place?

The Royal Sutton Fun Run takes place on Sunday 31st May 2026, with the event starting at 11am.

3. How long is the Fun Run route?

The route is 8.5 miles long and takes participants through Sutton Coldfield town centre and Sutton Park.

4. Is the event suitable for walkers and beginners?

Yes. The event is designed for people of all ages and abilities. Participants can walk, jog, or run the course at their own pace.

5. Can children take part?

Yes. Junior participants are welcome, but for safety reasons all junior entrants must start in South Parade.

6. Are dogs allowed in the Fun Run?

Yes, dogs are permitted to take part in the event with an official dog bib. However, with warm weather expected, participants are asked to carefully consider their dog’s welfare, as dogs can quickly overheat and hot tarmac may burn sensitive paws.

7. What time should I arrive?

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, walking to assembly zones, and avoiding congestion before the event begins.

8. Where can I park on the day?

Parking is available across Sutton Town Centre, with designated car parks highlighted on the official town centre map provided by organisers. See Map

9. Will there be road closures during the event?

Yes. Temporary road closures will be in place throughout Sutton Coldfield to ensure participant safety. Some town centre roads close from 4am, while most route closures begin from 10am. Read more details.

10. Which roads will be closed?

Closures include: Lower Parade and South Parade (4am–5pm) Mill Street, High Street and Lichfield Road (10am–4pm) Anchorage Road, Upper Clifton Road, Somerville Road, Monmouth Drive and Stonehouse Road (10am–12:30pm) Four Oaks Road (10am–3pm)

11. Will buses and trains be affected on the day?

Yes. Due to road closures for the Royal Sutton Fun Run, several National Express West Midlands bus services will operate on diverted routes throughout the day, and participants are advised to check travel arrangements before setting off. 12. Which bus routes are affected?

Affected routes include services 5, 6, 71, 77, 907, X3, X4, X5 and X14. Temporary stops will operate throughout the day. Read more details.

13. Are there bag drop or changing facilities?

No. There are no bag drop or changing facilities available, so participants should arrive ready to take part.

14. What should participants wear?

Participants should wear suitable clothing and supportive footwear appropriate for the weather conditions. With warm weather expected, participants are encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the event. Fancy dress is allowed, provided it is safe, suitable for the heat, and does not restrict movement or visibility.

15. Will there be water stations and toilets on the route?

Yes. There are three water stations along the route, a drinks station at the finish, and toilet facilities available in the town centre and around the course. With warm weather expected, participants are strongly encouraged to stay hydrated throughout the event.

16. How is my time recorded?

Each participant’s race number includes a timing chip that automatically records their official course time. Timing mats are positioned at the start, finish, and at several points around the course to accurately track participant progress and completion times. Results will be available online shortly after the event.

17. My Bib Number and Timing Tag number are NOT the same?

Do NOT worry if your Bib Number and Timing Tag Number do not match. Our system automatically maps your Timing Tag details to your Bib Number within our event software.
