FAQ

Who can participate in the Run for the Whales?

Everyone can participate. There are three distances: Half Marathon (competitive, FIDAL/WA certified), 10 km (non-competitive), and a 3 km Family Run. Age requirements vary by distance; see regulations for details.

Is a medical certificate required?

For the Family Run and 10 km, no medical certificate is required. For the Half Marathon, FIDAL regulations require a valid Runcard and medical certificate for competitive participants.

What is included in the registration fee?

All distances include race bib, timing chip, technical T-shirt (online pre-registrations), participation medal, third-party liability insurance, and medical support. A contribution supports the Tethys Institute.

Are there payment deadlines and price tiers?

Yes. Early registration deadlines with lower fees apply for each distance (e.g., Half Marathon €42.50 until 31 May 2026, higher fees afterward). Exact tiers are listed on the registration page.

Can I register on the day of the race?

No; registration must be completed online or at the secretariat in advance. On-site registration is not available for the Half Marathon.
