About

Run for the Young is a local community event hosted by Bridge Builders Youth Charity, with 100% of proceeds supporting youth programs. The event takes place on the Warburton Trail offering scenic routes and family-friendly distances.

Pacers

Pacers guide multiple start waves: 21.1km male 1:30 / female 1:30; 21.1km male 1:40 / female 1:40; continuing in 10-minute increments through 21.1km (finishing between 1:30–3:00) and 42.2km (matching start-wave times). Pacers display Pacerflaggen and set target times per Startwelle; aim to keep groups on schedule and support runners.

When is the event and where does it start?

The race takes place on Sunday 29th November 2026, starting at Mount Lilydale Mercy College (120 Anderson Street, Lilydale, Victoria).

How can I register and what are the cut-off times?

Online registration is available via the official registration link; early registration is advised as entries are limited and close at 11:59pm on Saturday 28 November. On-the-day registration may be available.

What are the start times for each distance?

42.2km Marathon at 7:00am; 21.1km Half Marathon at 7:30am; 10km at 8:00am; 5km at 10:00am; 2.5km Kids Run at 11:00am.

What facilities are available on race day?

Toilets are located at the start/finish line and the half-marathon turnaround; additional public toilets are available at Mt Evelyn and Seville along the Warburton Trail. Multiple food and drink vendors provide water, Tailwind nutrition, and options including vegetarian/vegan choices; BYO reusable cup is encouraged.
