FAQ

Where is it?

It all takes place at the Wild Forest Obstacle & Activity centre, run by Nuclear Races. The full address is Wild Forest, Parsonage Farm, Ongar Road, Brentwood, Essex CM15 0LA (not the Nuclear Bunker!)

Do I need to be really fit to take part?

No. This event is designed to challenge all abilities and levels of fitness, and the instructors will adapt the challenge to suit each group. We want you to have fun at the same time – and as long as you’re prepared to get muddy and wet, you’ll have a great time!

What should I wear?

Anything you don’t mind getting dirty! Fast drying, breathable fabrics are best and remember that cotton can get heavy and cold when wet. You’ll need a pair of lace up trainers, and best to avoid plimsols or football boots.

How much does it cost?

The registration fee is £40 (plus booking fee). We ask all participants to try and raise at least £100 in sponsorship.

Is there an age limit?

All entrants must be over 13, with under-18s being accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Some swimming ability will help, but you do not have to be able to swim. There will be buoyancy vests available and a water safety team around the lake.

Will there be somewhere to clean up after the event?

There are hot water wash down showers at the finish. These are designed to rinse the mud off, but please don’t bring shampoo & soap – you will need to shower properly once you get home!

Can I invite my family and friends to watch?

Access around the full course is not available, however there is a spectator area, and we encourage you to bring people to cheer you on at the start and end. There will also be some catering available on the day.

Is there somewhere to park?

Yes, it is onsite – and free!

Are there toilets?

Yes – for participants and spectators.

What is the best way to send in my fundraising?

We advise you set up a JustGiving page. You can set up an individual page, or a team page – we definitely encourage some healthy competition! It’s quick and easy, and your sponsorship comes direct to the charity. All information will be included in your digital fundraising pack, which will be sent to you once you have completed your registration.

Sounds awesome, where do I sign up?

Great! Just register online now.
