FAQ

Yes. Wildwood is served by Metro West, Monarch, and Eureka fire districts. Recreational fires must be contained in a structure no larger than 3 feet in diameter, and must not produce smoke nuisances or include waste materials. All other open burns are prohibited.16. Do I need authorization to remove a tree on my property?

Yes, in most cases. If the tree removal is part of any land disturbance activity, a permit is typically required. For general tree removal (not tied to construction or grading), the City still asks that you notify us, especially if the tree is large or mature, so we can ensure proper steps are taken and avoid any confusion or concerns from neighbors. Some tree removals may require restoration or replanting. To find out what applies to your situation, please contact City Arborist Mike Walsh or visit the Department of Planning page for more information.17. If I report a problem with my neighbor, is my name shared?

Wildwood uses two providers: Republic Services (urban areas) and Gateway Disposal (rural/private roads). Use our Waste & Recycling page or call City Hall to confirm which applies to you. Residents age 65+ are eligible for a 15% discount. Contact your provider directly to apply.20. What are the storage requirements for residential trash containers?

According to City Code, trash containers must be stored out of view from the street in front of your home. This helps maintain the appearance and character of our neighborhoods. Containers should be kept behind the house, inside a garage, or screened from view with fencing or landscaping. Leaving containers visible from the street on non-collection days may result in a code violation and potential fines. If you have questions about what’s allowed on your property, feel free to contact Code Enforcement for guidance. 21. Where can I get recycling guidelines?
