A premier 50-mile trail race across the South Downs National Park, taking runners from Worthing to Eastbourne along iconic chalk ridges, ancient pathways, and coastal scenery.
7 aid stations along the course. Minimum supplies include: Precision Hydration Gels, Chews, Electrolyte Drink, Tailwind Gu Gels, Water, Coke/Pepsi, Chocolate/Sweets/Biscuits, Nuts, Fruit, Sandwiches and Wraps, Savoury Snacks (vegan & gluten-free options). Hot drinks available at Alfriston, Jevington, and the Finish. Hot food available at the Finish only.
Pacers are not permitted at this event. Crews are not permitted—runners cannot be handed supplies, fluid, or clothing along the route. Spectators may attend the course but must not park at, near, or attend any official check points and must not hand over or exchange anything with runners except words of encouragement.

You must have completed a minimum marathon distance race between 1st January 2022 and race day, with a finish time within that event’s cut-off. The organiser reserves the right to refuse entry if the standard is not met.
Runners must finish the course within 13 hours. There are additional cut-offs at each aid station on route.

As a summary: fully charged mobile phone, 1+ litre water bladder/bottles, survival blanket (1.4m x 2m), waterproof jacket (Gore-tex or similar, 10000mm+), whistle, headtorch (min 100 lumens) plus backup, warm hat, gloves, long-sleeve base layer or fleece, cup, and mandatory kit-checked trail shoes. Missing any item can incur a one-hour time penalty.
