The South East Greenway 5K Stride, hosted by United Striders AC, is a flat, point-to-point 5K on the scenic Greenway — a fast, no-hassle course known as one of the fastest 5K routes in Ireland.

Pacers

Pacemakers will be available on race day with target times per start wave displayed at Registration and on the Race Day page (e.g., Sub-17:00; 17–20:00; 21–25:00; 26–30:00; 30+:00). Pacers help runners maintain even pacing and a controlled finish.

I’ve registered but can’t attend. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we operate a no refunds policy. However, you can transfer your entry to another participant once the transfer window opens. See details below.

Can I transfer my race entry to someone else?

Yes. Entry transfers will be allowed during the transfer window:Opens: Midnight, Monday July 20thCloses: Sunday August 2nd at 23:59To transfer your entry:Log into Eventmaster.ie using the email used at registration and go to My TicketsSelect View OrderClick Ticket TransferEnter the First Name, Last Name, and Email of the person you're transferring to. Click Start Transfer. The new participant will receive an email to accept and complete the transfer (including any fees).If they haven’t accepted yet, you can cancel and re-initiate the transfer. Once accepted, you will no longer be able to change it.Important:United Striders AC is not responsible for any entry changes or financial transactions between individuals.All transfer arrangements are strictly between the original and new entrants.The transfer isn’t complete until the other person accepts the transfer, enters their details and claims the order. If the recipient does not do this before the window closes on the 3rd of August, the ticket will not transfer. Tickets can only be transferred once.

Can I defer my entry to next year?

No. Entries are only valid for the current year’s event.

What prizes are available?

When & where do I collect my race number?

Pick up your number at Race HQ:New Ross Boat Club (Y34 RP78)Collection times:Thursday, August 6th – 6:00pm to 7:30pmFriday, August 7th – 5:00pm to 7:00pmNo race-day entries accepted.

Will race numbers be posted out?

No. All race numbers must be collected in person at Race HQ.

Where is the race start and finish?

Start line: Glenmore end of the Greenway, approx. 6km from Race HQFinish line: Near Race HQ

Where should I park?

Main parking is 200m from Race HQ at New Ross Mart. Follow stewards' instructions.Limited parking is available at the start line in Glenmore – carpooling strongly advised.Please respect local residents and obey all traffic cones and marshals.

Are shuttle buses provided to the start line?

Yes. A free shuttle bus will operate from the Boat Club to Glenmore (Y34 PW20).Buses will begin running at 6:20pmLast bus departs at 7:00pm sharpFirst come, first served — board early to avoid delaysDrop-off is approx. 700m from the start lineNo belongings may be left on the busAllow at least 45 minutes for travel and warm-up

What if I miss the last shuttle?

If you miss the final bus, please either jog to the start along the Greenway or drive and park (if space is available) near Glenmore.

Is there parking near the start line?

Yes, there is parking approximately 700m from the start line, but space is very limited. Carpooling is essential if parking here.

Where are toilets located?

At Race HQ (New Ross Boat Club)Portaloos at New Ross Mart (main car park for the event)Limited portaloos available near the shuttle drop-off in Glenmore, 700m from the start line

Is there a gear drop near the start line?

Yes, a small gear drop is available at the start.Leave only tops or light clothing (no bags, valuables, or food)Items will be returned to Race HQ post-raceUnited Striders AC accepts no responsibility for lost or missing items

What’s the minimum age to participate?

Participants must be 16 years or older on race day.

Where will I collect my finisher's medal?

You’ll receive your custom medal at the finish line.

Can I get a medal if I don’t attend?

No. Medals are only for those who complete the race.

Will there be starting bays?

Yes. Starting bays ensure a smooth and safe start:Sub 17 minutes17–20 minutes21–25 minutes26–30 minutes30+ minutes (including walkers)Please move to your bay 15 minutes before race start.Chip timing is in use — your time starts when you cross the line.Important: Stick to your appropriate bay to help prevent trips or collisions.

Will the Greenway be closed to the public?

No. The Greenway remains open.Please keep left, pass on the right, and stay alert for other users and cyclists.

Will there be water stations?

Water is provided at the finish line only.Please carry your own water if you think you’ll need it during the race.

What should I do if I need medical help?

Contact the nearest race marshalIf you're unable to move, ask someone to get help on your behalfDo not race if you’ve recently been unwell (fever, vomiting, chest pain, etc.)

Are there post-race refreshments?

Yes! Enjoy tea, coffee, sandwiches, and cakes at the Boat Club after your run.

When is the prize-giving?

8:45pm at the Boat Club.

When and where will results be available?

Results will be available immediately after the race on myrunresults.com.
