At the black Tough Viking tents at the venue, you can pick up your start kit containing your number headband (a headband with a unique number) and timing chip. Start kit pickup is available on Friday from 11:00-18:00 and on Saturday from 09:00. You must collect your start kit at least one hour before your personal start time and present a valid ID. If you’re picking up packets for friends, you must have a signed authorization. Your start time is the one you selected during registration, which you should also receive via SMS a few days before the race. This SMS needs to be shown when collecting your packet. If you didn’t provide your phone number during registration, the SMS will go to the person who registered you. For the Kids Race, pickup is only available on race day. Collecting Someone Else’s Start Kit It is possible to collect another participant’s start kit if you have both parties’ IDs or a simple authorization letter that includes a copy of the ID of the person giving the authorization. Example of authorization: I, [full name and personal ID number], authorize [full name and personal ID number] to collect my race kit. Signature: [signature] Attached: Copy of my ID We also accept that the person collecting the race kit shows a photo of the participant’s ID on their phone, along with their own valid ID.
Located in a black tent next to the packet pickup tents.

The length of the courses varies from venue to venue and each course is unique. The race at the Royal Djurgården is 15 km and the races in Gothenburg as well as Stockholm Stadium are around 8 km. The courses are set in detail a few months prior to start and are publicized here and at our Facebook page. Remember that a Tough Viking race is anything but a flat walk in the park. Be prepared. Train. Hard.
Men, Women and as a Team. Teams are mixed and you can set up the team as you prefer (all men, all women, mixed). A team is made out of at least four persons and the best four individual times are registered as the team final result.
The course is clearly marked with Tough Viking tape all the way around.
If you fail an obstacle, you can redo it if you want. If you do not clear the obstacle, you must do the penalty run. You can always ask your teammates or other participants for help to get through, over or under. The most important thing is that you have fun!
Attach the timing chip around your right ankle for the best tracking. The number headband should be worn around your head so that our volunteers can identify you as part of the race. You could see this as a race and go for the best possible time, however many just aim at getting through our amazing and challenging course. It is all up to you how you will see it. In the start kit you get a time chip and this should be attached around the right foot ankle.
A staffed bag check is available where you can leave your belongings during the race. We are not responsible for valuables. Your bag check number is the same as your race number, which is on your number headband, and will be written on your bag check tag.
There are changing rooms/tents at the venue.
We recommend that you use the public transportation system as parking spaces are generally scarce.
The course is marked with strips and it is easy to find your way around. You can always ask our obstacle captains if you are unsure or need tips on how to claim the course. We have maps of the course online as well at the starting area.
There are three water stations on the course – two on the track and one at the finish. Red Bull and Arla Protein are available at the finish line.
During spring time (April and May) the water temperature in the Nordic countries is normally 7-9 degrees Celsius. In June it can be as low as 12 degrees and during July and August the temperature often climbs to 18-20 degrees Celsius. During September it generally falls to 15-18 degrees.
